My LASIK Experience

Hi dudes,

i just hate to wear my specs and i badly wanted to try out this LASIK surgery as soon as i heard of it. I some how convinced my dad to take me for a check up and finally i went there. The doctor after some preliminary tests said that things are fine, how ever i need to take up another important test which would be the final step to decide if i can go ahead with the laser surgery for my eyes or not. I was asked to come on a weekend as it would take a while for it to happen. I decided to go that weekend itself and have the test done. When i went there, the room was pretty scary and a lot of those laser type instruments were around. I was asked to take my seat and was diluted in my eyes. I hardly could see what was happening around. Then they did the preliminary tests and they said that my power is still increasing as i dont wear my specs regularly. They asked me to wear it always so that the power would stabilize by the time i finish colelge and then i can take up the laser surgery. I confirmed with the doctor if i really cant take it up rite away. She nodded her head and said since u are already 20 years old it would surely stabilize in a few more months. If i could wait, then the result of the surgery would be even more succesfull. I had no other choice except to carry on with my specs :-( !!

LASIK

Wondering whats that ?

LASIK stands for laser- assisted in situ keratomileusis is a laser surgery for eye in order to correct myophia, hyperopia, astigmatism. If you are very bored of wearing specs which has glasses thicker than your car window then its time for you to throw them away and go for this LASIK surgery. This surgery takes nothing more than 30 to 60 minutes and a day or two rest at home. There is no pain or blood and you dont even have the feel of getting operated. If someone said medical field has become painless and highly technology oriented, then this is the proof for it. This LASIK surgery can be done for any adult above 18 years, provided that they pass some basic tests which are necessary to ensure that the power in their eyes have been stabilized. Even contact lens demand a very carefull usage and other restrictions which are little tought to be followed all the time. Thus this laser treatment provides to be a very good solution to such people who don want to opt for specs or contact lenses.

Career Certification

It is expected that the number of jobs available in the IT and computing field in the United States will be reaching 1.5 million by 2012. This time is never far and the world is already witnessing such a stage of growth in the IT field. Anything you see today will have a touch of Information Technology in it. There is no space in this world without technology and computers. Healthcare sector is becoming a hot button in the IT field as it has found a lot of applications based on the IT. Even the MBA programs which were once traditionally more concentrated on strategies and managing principles have now realised that they need IT and computing inorder to make and carry out decisions, there by making it a part of the curriculum. This wide application of the Information Technology brings a lot of opporutnities for people to find jobs in any field they want.

But well, i also need to tell you that the jobs in IT demands a lot of knowledge and hard work which is necessary in order to survive in the field. Since the competition and concentration is really high. To tackle this, everyone needs to be trained and knowledgeable. This is the time where you need to look out for the Training programs which are available to equip yourself in the job.

I recently came across this program called Cisco certification. They give training for people who are interested to grab the opportunities available in the field of IP communications, Security, Wireless mobility and lot of other courses which are very happening topics in the IT field today. Their certification programs can be categorised into three levels - Associate, Professional, Expert.

POSSIBLE CAREER GROWTH WITH CISCO CERTIFICATION -

I feel that the career growth always has its shadow called continuous learning. You will always need to be updated with the technologies inorder to equip yourself and be efficient in the job. We should never stop learning and learning and getting trained is the backbone of our existence in this competitive world. It is wise to make your own career path than simply intend to move with the wind.

So be sure to be trained and certified to stand out from the crowd and make yourself distinct from the others. This could help you lay a run way where you can take off your own career paths and reach heights.

With the increasing technology, the world needs more technicians to handle them. If you are one among those trained technicians, your chances of taking a lead ahead of others are very bright.

Student Exchange Program

The International Student Exchange program is always such a nice system. It invites people from all over the world to come together and they live and share thoughts together thus leading to an effective way of teaching and learning. This gives the students an international exposure which is very necessary for students in the later part of their career. It also gives them the exposure and opportunity to learn and know about the various cultures existing in the various parts of the world other than their home land. If every university could have this program of student exchange then it would be really nice to see the students from other countries to study in a lot of places and grab more dynamic opportunities than what they could get way back home.

I really wish that universities exchange student as this would result in their own personal growth as well as it would set a path of fine relationship between the different countries.

Help these children !!

In this fast changing world , people are always busy with their own work and little time available to be spent with their own family. Very few are bothered to think about this world or the other people existing here. Their routine world starts with a coffee and ends with a good night and all work inbetween. Weekends are spent relaxing with the family and dinner at night.

There are children in this world who are not able to open up to this world due to their birth defects. Their loneliness and ignorance from the other people are being listed to the already existing long list of their difficulties. Just like everyone of us , they have their own dreams, passion, their likes and dis likes. But the space for them in this world is coming down everyday. I personally fear that this space might never exist if no care is given to this issue. They are not abnormal, they dont deserve to be neglected or not seen. They are just like one among us. They dont deserve it at all. There has been a lot of acts and organizations coming forward to look after this issue. But it is not just the organization and government which could handle this. The initiative has to come from each and every one of us.

There are a numerous number of organizations and communities to help those children. But it needs extra effort to meet the increasing ends. There is this particular charity foundation called Child Foundation Charity which helps kids with physical birth defects be able to afford surgery so they can look "normal". 100% of their donations goes towards these surgeries.

It needs effort from every one of us to look into this matter seriously and make a revolutionary change and make them feel comfortable in this routine life. It needs your help to see a world with no defects from our side.

One more blast in India

It is not even 24 hours since i posted my previous post on the serial bomb blast in bangalore here .Before that another blast has been executed in Ahmedabad.More than a dozen blasts are reported to have hit residential areas, crowded markets, a train station and a bus in Gujarat state's commercial capital.Images of the bus shattered across in the road with its sides and windows scattered due to the blast are being shown on the tevelesion and news broadcasts.

The second blast was targeted mostly in this hospital including the very famous hospital of the city.It is believed that this blast is done to seperate the Hindu muslim unity in india and bring in religious riots. May be thats why the previous blast and this one have been targeted in an area which is rich in both the religions.

Wayanad , The hidden heaven !!

Wayanad - hidden among the mountains of western ghats in south india is my native. It was just my native and i have never been there. I was born and brought up in chennai itself. It was recently that i asked my parents to make a trip to wayanad. Things went right and i left chennai for my holidays to wayanad.

Just like how people who dont know wayanad would think, i had a picture in my mind that it would be like a small village and all that. I never knew that it had a wild sanctuary or that it was such a lovely place in india. I had to get down at a local railway station and there was only jeep service from there to wayanad. We got in and it was a journey through the forest trees and Woozing noises of the insects and birds. It was very thrilling. No my ideas on wayanad completely changed. On the way we heard the sound of water chilling down and we asked the jeep driver about it. He said that there is a near by water falls but it would be dangerous for us to go and see it from near. My mom and aunt were like chalo lets go home first. But me and my dad were more interested to go and see the falls. The forest was itself full of nature and green. Imagine if you knew there is a waterfal and would you not wanna go see it ? But then we had to continue on the journey as it was getting dark in the evening and we need to reach wayanad before it gets difficult to dtive.

It was night around 9 Pm and we were done with dinner. I asked my dad if we could go back to the road from where we came all the way, as it was really thrilling. I dont know may be he was even more interested in what i asked that he agreed and we asked our driver if he could take us there. He just went back thinking that we should be cracks to ask him if he can take us to lion's den at 9 pm. But then we told him that we were from chennai and we would never get an oppurtunity to see such things in life. He was half hearted but still he couldnt say no to us. Without telling my mom or aunt, we started and left home. It was almost 10 pm. I just imagined how 10 pm night life would have been in chennai city and how it is here. The whoozing noise was even more intense now. On the way driver picked up another guy whom we dint know, should be his friend. We went a long way inside and this time we started hearing the sound of other wild beings. We saw 2 elephants crossing a mud road long ahead. Though it was dark, we could clearly see the giants. After 20 mins ahead , we again saw a herd of elephants but this time i guess that the elephants dint like us in their place. One of them saw the jeep coming towards and gave a high poop. We had to stop the jeep and switch it off. It could still see us and it started moving towards us. The driver said its not possible to go beyond this as there could be lot more elephants ahead and if they start chasing us then that'll be the end of everything. We had to get back home and lie that we just went around the place. The next morning, place was again full of green and we did some shopping like handcrafts and other stuff which we would never see in chennai. I never had a heart to leave the place after 2 days. It was altogether a memorable experience and a close to heart journey in my life.

Sathyam Cinemas Online booking

I dont know how many of you guys have tried to book tickets in sathyam cinemas , Chennai for a weekend show. It was the third time i was about to book tickets and the first time for a weekend movie. There was no schedule on the website for the saturday show. I called up sathyam customer care and they told me that it would be available by Thursday night and i can book online. I asked him for the approximate time that i can check the site and he said around 11 Pm. I was fine and waited for thursday. It arrived and waited for 11 pm and it was.

I pulled my chair and was ready to book the ticket and the site was very busy. I thought like may be they are still uploading the schedule to the server and i should wait a while. I was away but still tried connecting every 10 minutes. At around 11.40 Pm i got access to the site which was slower than nail in opening pages. Atlast i managed to click through the movies , seats , selecting drinks, ordering foods and when i was about to click on pay. I got page not found ! I was really frustrated. I dint give up. I still started it all again from first and somehow reached the page where i should select the seats. I was taken back to know that there were no shows or seats available in the entire sathyam for the noon show ( Online reservation seats alone ). I was then realising therearet be lot more Vetty people like me who were all trying together and book the tickets for the weekend. It wasnt my night and my broadband sucked asusual. I thought i could try my luck on the spot reservation but then things got changed and the whole plan was cancelled. I had to go to office that day :-O !! Now i said thank god .. i dint book..eerrrr i coudnt book !

Customize your own desktop !!

Hey guys ! I came across this site which helps u in customizing ur desktop , infact your whole laptop itself. It has got lot of themes and tools for docks. Apart from these you can also customize the whole appearence of your computer rite from the boot menu till shut down. It also provides with the sound packs and other multimedia packages where user can actually make the whole thing rock.

The best thing that i personally liked was the collection of their Docks , wallpapers and screensavers. Sound packs were also good but it requires Windows Sp2 and .NET Framework to install it completely. I have also included a screenshot of my desktop and winodows Log on screen.

The only difficulty in this site is that you need to install seperate softwares for each of the things you wish to customize. For example, if you want to change your desktop into dock, you need star dock and similarly some other corresponding software for changing the windows log on. Though everything could be downloaded from Star dock website for a trial, there would be nothing like it if they can come up with a software which is a package of everything put together and available for free usage without any demo shield.

Cricket in my life again ! All again !!

It has been around 4 years since i played cricket. I had no oppurtunity to play in my college. All i played was in my 11th grade. Now after almost little more than 4 years i have started playing cricket. I was excited to know that there was this cricket team in my office and i signed up my name for it at once i got the news. A lot of people were interested. I thought may be everyone really were waiting to play the game after studying hard in college, if at all they really did. It was last weekend that we were called for the net practice sessions. I went and my seniors were all really friendly. It went on well and i could see that i was playing worse than a beginner. But this weekend it was my second nets and i know i have improved atleast a bit, a marginal improvement. I hope i get back the same passion and fun i had in this game years back in my school. Its really hard when u want to do something which you are not used to for a long time. A gap inbetween makes u forget anything you might be brilliant at.

I hope things go my way !! Way to go !!

Changing Life - Changing passions

Rightly said that Change is the only thing that is constant in life. Everything keeps changing regularly in our life. Interests and Passions are not out of this list. May be things dont change for a while in your life but surely someday it would be replaced.

Rite from my childhood my passions have always been changing across my time lifeline. I was crazy about toys when i dint know what my age was, probably i dint know what numbers were. It changed. I learnt numbers and started liking bi-cycles. I would say cycling was not my hobby but habbit. I had a great passion in cycling. I saw bikes and thought i should be dumb to be pressing the pedals instead of racing away Whrrooomm. I got bored of cycles and wanted bike. It changed again. when i was in my high school, i had a passion for cricket. I was living cricket. I even had a thought of becoming a cricket player for life, quitting studies. It again changed. Lot of things changed when i entered college. I would say i had a new interest or passion everyday. Everything i saw made me like it. But neverthless the next day i saw soemthing better. It all changed. I was so much interested in a lot of things. But nothing was long. I'm now into blogging. But my life is still changing. I never know whats next ! Infact no one knows :-)

Atlast Chennai Chill

Its very rare u see rain or even drizzling in Chennai. I was at work today and from my office cabin i can hardly see what's going on outside. I don't even know what the outside world is when i'm inside office. It was time for lunch and we stepped out as usual. I expected the weather to be very hot just like any other day, to my surprise as soon as i came out from the lift, i saw that the sky was very dusky and no signs on shadows. It was calm cold and the sky had looks of beginning to rain very soon. I really felt a relief walking down till the restaurant enjoying the weather. It was very un usual scene in chennai that too at mid-noon. Just when i came out after eating, it started raining hard and we got wet. It was all enjoyable for it happens very rarely for people living in chennai. It was a retreat.

Sir Isaac Newton - Unexplored

Did u guys know the following things about the greatest scientist Isaac Newton. If not here i write it for u. Enjoy :-)

  • Premature Birth - Isaac Newton was premature when he was born. It is said that he was so small that he would fit inside a quart mug.
  • Would have been a Farmer - Being born in a farming family, his family people insisted him to become a farmer. It was only because of his uncle that he got admission in Trinity college in Cambridge.
  • The real Apple story - We always heard of a story that Newton was walking around his garden at Woolsthorpe Manor when he saw a falling apple, inspired by which he formulated the theory of universal gravitation. But Newton himself said that he was in his house staring through the window when he saw an apple fall from a tree.
  • Very Religious - Even though people use Newton's work, particularly the law of motion and universal gravitation to argue against the existence of God, Newton himself was extremely religious. He used to say that, "Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done." Despite his deep religious belief, Newton didn't believe the existence of spirits and ghosts.
  • Only one word as a politician - Newton served as a Member of Parliament for exactly one year (1689 - 1690). During all the lengthy proceedings, he spoke only once: he asked a nearby person to close an open window!

Education - A business

Education is no more a service in india. It has become a business. You can very often hear people saying they bought seat rather than simply saying they got admit. I wonder from where this new culture rooted. Any course you take, it has some fixed rate for it already. Right from any course in Arts college to be it Engineering or doctor, you will need to pay what they ask. The reserved quota is the main reason for all this. Only a meagre percentage of the seats are given to the merit students and the rest is all played by the management of the college to make many manyfold of what they invested in setting up the college. They are looking at yearly turn overs like multi-national companies. I recently read an sms which i got from an unknown number saying that they are a group of people who can get admission in any college that you want. They even had a tarriff which stated the amount being charged for the respective courses. I read that engineering seats were anywhere around 2 Lakhs to 7 Lakhs, MBBS is 10 Lakhs to 60 Lakhs. I really thought that this kind of a system and trend is really spoiling the service. I wonder how people who dont have money and who are not well off would pay such a huge amount to these business men. The parents of those students would also have their own dream like how my parents had on me. If education is going to continue in this way, i guess at some point of time soon, the trend will become like only the top 20 richest people in india could afford to get a degree or who knows even schooling is under such a changing trend. I was shocked to hear that even for a KG class admission they charge so much. Seeing the reputed schools charging so much , even the schools which are local and dont have much infrastrucures have started to follow this trend. On the whole the education system in india is totally corrupted. I wish the indian government could send a ray of light and bring all these matters to an end. This trend will only lead to the increase in the povertly line, illiteracy and unempoloyment. If this is going to continue with negligence from public and gonverment then i'm sure India shining would prove to be totally wrong.

HAUNTED HOUSE INDEX - ( INDIA )

Here are a list of places which is believed to be haunted by ghost. I came across this in some website and i really didn't believe. But then i saw a lot of comments which were more biased towards agreeing to these craps.

Bombay - Bombay Supreme Court - for over 30 years whenever a murder trial is conducted here a vengeful bilingual ghost makes itself known by cursing and terrorizing anyone brave (or foolish) enough to enter.

Delhi - Delhi cant. - Most of the times, people see a lady standing in white dress asking for lift. if you go thru she will run as fast as the car runs & people reported her sitting there.

Gujarat - Surat - Dumas - If you walk towards the ocean at night in Dumas then u will hear noises that will tell you go home don’t go forward and all scary things happen. Dogs will even start chasing you sometimes but they say that the dogs run because they are trying to get away from that place as well. This all happens because Hindus burn their bodies after they die over there and the ghosts in there body stay in the air.

Hyderabad - Ramoji Film City - It is a big film city in Hyderabad,(like universal studios) the hotels in Ramoji film city are haunted. They say that the film city is built on war grounds of the Nizam sultans. Witnesses report the lights kept on top keep falling off, the light men- who sit with the lights on top have been pushed so many times and many have had grievous injuries. The food left in rooms also gets scattered around the room and strange marks are left on the mirror, some script.... resembling Urdu...the language spoken by the sultans. Girls are the ghosts' favorite to haunt. They trouble the girls so much, they tear their clothes, knock on the bathroom doors while the outside doors are locked. They create havoc. Many preventive measures have been taken to prevent hauntings......but of no use...they keep coming back after sometime.

Lonawala -
Maharashtra - Raj Kiran hotel - Reports of bedsheets being pulled off and continue to be pulled even after the guest is woken up. This room is in the corner and at the backside of the reception on the ground floor itself.

Meerut - GP block - It has been always seen that 4 guys are sitting inside the house with a single candle lighted and drinking beers. It happens to be most common sight for people passing through that area but few person also added that even they have seen girls in red dress coming out of the house. The house is double stored and people have seen the scene happening on the roof top. People have left moving through that place now.

Mumbai - Mahim - Near Canossa primary there is a chawl named d'souza chawl, there is a local well from whwere people used to fill water and even wash clothes. This well did not have any boundary walls around it and once when a lady was filling water the whole thing collapsed. The lady too fell in that well and died. After this incident she is said to appear everyday near that well and many of the locals have even seen her. She does not harm anyone just strolls around the place and before morning hours she dissappears.

New Delhi - Sanjay Van (near Qutab Institutional Area) - Sanjay Van is a huge forest area spread over around 10 kms. There is a cremation ground also there, many people have reported having seen a lady dressed in a white saree appearing and disappearing suddenly.

Pune - Shaniwarwada Fort - When Peshwas ruled the western Indian province, Narayan the heir of the kingdom was assassinated on his uncle Madhavrao's wife's orders. Narayan was chased by his assassins across the entire fort. It was said that while running for his life he called "Uncle save me", and even today locals say that they hear his cries for help at
midnights on new moon day.

Rajasthan - Alwar / Bhangarh-Ajabgarh - Bhangarh ruins - Bhangarh is a place on way from Jaipur to Alwar city in Rajasthan state of India. Today Bhangarh is known for it's ruins where nobody dares to stay after sunset. Going to history we find that this town was established by Madho Singh, younger brother of King Akbar’s General Man Singh, in 1631. But the city seems to have been abandoned in a hurry some centuries later. As per local folks, due to some curse the whole town was vacated overnight. According to this curse It was also said that if the town was ever rediscovered, the township would not be found, but only temples would show up. True to the story, only temples dot the landscape and even far up on the mountains only shrines can be seen. People say that nobody returned from there who stayed there after dark. The biggest thing is that as per Govt. of India rules there has to be an office of Archaeology Survey of India (ASI) beside every historical structure in India. But even Government authorities couldn’t dare to open an office there and they opened their office about one kilometer away from the ruins of Bhangarh. Also ASI has put a signboard at Bhangarh saying, "Staying after sunset is strictly prohibited in this area." People who visit this place out of tourist interest say that there is a strange feeling in the atmosphere of Bhangarh, which causes sort of anxiety and restlessness.

Thane - Vrindavan Society - Its said a Man had committed suicide in one of the Buildings in Vrindavan Society(Bldg. No.66 B).The security guard's patrolling the area around have come across weird happenings. Once a guard was slapped so hardly that he got up from his chair and hit the other guard who was near by him thinking he was the one who hit him.

West
Bengal - Kurseong - Dow-Hill - The forests have an uncanny feeling. Its damp, cold and sometimes dark. People up here tend to be depressed and countless murders have taken place. On the stretch between Dow-Hill road and the Forest Office, wood cutters returning in the evenings have sited a young boy walking head-less for several yards and then walk away from the road into the woods. Other than this, footsteps are heard in the corridors of the Victoria Boys School when the school is closed for long holidays from December to March.
